In the 1920's, Ben Tipp converted his Seattle, Washington pawnshop into a jewelry store. It became the largest and most well known in
all of Seattle.
In 1949, Arthur Polacheck moved to California and opened up his own jewelry store on Brand Boulevard in Glendale. Ten years later, Arthur and
his sons, Stephen and Art, joined forces and within twenty years the Polacheck's family store had grown to five strong.
In 1986, the Polachecks sold all five stores to a public company. Polacheck's Jewelers reopened in 1989 at Sherman Oaks Fashion Square. This was
to be Stephen's own store featuring designer lines, high-end jewelry and watches.
After graduating from the University of Arizona, Stephen's son, Brent, became a fourth generation Polacheck to join the jewelry business. Brent
is now a certified gemologist of GIA.
In 1998, Stephen and Brent opened their first store together in the Commons at Calabasas, where Polacheck's Jewelers has become one of Southern
California's most prestigious jewelry stores. Polacheck's Jewelers continues to provide customers with the finest quality jewelry and timepieces.
